Worship

Worship is a huge part of our lives and our times together at CLC. We believe that lifting Jesus up passionately in song is part of our DNA as humans. We’ve found that opening ourselves up to the work of the Holy Spirit in worship really helps us deepen our relationship with God and as we trust him, he really does meet our needs, bringing transformation, healing and growth.

We’re grateful to have a wonderful worship team and a rich catalogue of new songs, modern classics, gospel choruses and traditional hymns we use in our extended time of worship on Sunday mornings. We also have our “Encounter” evenings where we seek God in prayer and worship.

Prayer

At CLC, we believe in the power of prayer.

We hold dedicated Weeks of Prayer that start with a Sunday evening Encounter—an exciting time of worship and prayer.

Every Sunday morning, our prayer team gathers at 9:40am to pray over the service and our church family.

The church building is also open for prayer during term time on the second Thursday of the month 2pm-3pm

During our Sunday service, there's often an opportunity to receive prayer by simply taking a seat at the front when invited. If you'd prefer more personal prayer, our team is always available after the service.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, churches around the world were forced to close and find new ways to meet and serve their communities. Musicians at Rugby CLC responded by recording songs that spoke directly into the situations we were all facing, and that brought connection, comfort and hope in a challenging time.

Some of these songs were released as an album called ‘Held Together‘, as a celebration of the mercy of God that held our community together in a difficult time.

All proceeds from the sale of ‘Held Together’ goes Compassion UK‘s child survival intervention programme in Uganda, which provides mothers with the vital skills and support to help them enable their babies not only to live, but to thrive and have a brighter future.
